The Vancouver Police are appealing to a pedestrian who was struck by a car yesterday to contact them.

Shortly after 10 a.m. on June 7th, an elderly woman was knocked to the ground after she was struck by a grey two-door vehicle at the intersection of 49th Avenue and Knight Street. Both the driver of the vehicle and the victim left the scene before police arrived.

Witnesses described the pedestrian as Asian and approximately 70 years of age. She was wearing a red coat and carrying a red and white umbrella.

Investigators have identified and spoken with the driver, but still need to find the victim to ensure her well being. The woman is asked to call police at (604) 717-3321.

There is no word on any charges at this stage in the investigation.
