The Vancouver Police Department is releasing the impaired driving statistics from the fourth weekend of the summer roadblock campaign.

This past weekend, on Friday and Saturday, roadblock crews were on the lookout for impaired drivers and in those two nights issued 44 prohibitions, compared to 91 on the same weekend of 2011. In the two nights, officers administered 238 tests. Of the 44 impaired drivers, 17 received Immediate Roadside Suspensions (IRP) “fail” sanctions, 15 received IRP “warn” sanctions, two received 24-hour prohibitions, three received a 24-hour prohibition for impairment by drugs, and seven new drivers received 12-hour prohibitions.
