The Vancouver Police are currently on scene in Vancouver’s West End after the Vancouver Fire Department located a body inside an apartment building.
Shortly after 2:00 p.m., the Vancouver Fire Department attended for a fire in an apartment located in the 1600 block Haro Street. The body of an elderly woman was found inside the residence.
Investigators with both the Vancouver Police and Vancouver Fire Department will be thoroughly examining the scene to determine the cause of the fire. Although still early in the investigation, the fire does not appear suspicious.
The identity of the victim is not being released as efforts to notify next of kin are made.
