Commercial vehicle inspectors from the Vancouver Police Department, Ministry of Transport Commercial Vehicle Safety Enforcement, and Delta Police Department will be joining forces in the 1900 block of Foley Street, to target and inspect one to five-ton commercial vehicles on September 12 and 13.

The vast majority of commercial vehicles are operated safely and appropriately maintained, the goal of this project is to identify and remove unsafe vehicles off our roads. Inspectors will be focusing on trucks that are in an obvious state of disrepair and flagging them in for further inspection. Mechanical deficiencies, load security, braking and steering systems, and bald tires are a few of the areas inspectors will be targeting.

Inspectors will be joined by instructors and students from the Vancouver Community College Heavy Duty and Commercial Transport Department, who will get a first hand look into their futures as commercial vehicle inspectors or mechanics.
