Vancouver Police are currently negotiating with a distraught man at a hotel in the 1000 block Canada Place.
At about 2:30 a.m., police received a 9-1-1 call about a man who walked into the Pacific Rim hotel with a hand gun.
To ensure the safety of the public, police have locked down a portion of the hotel.
The area is closed to pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
