An elderly pedestrian involved in a collision at East Georgia and Renfrew Street has died from his injuries.

Shortly after 3:00 p.m. on November 10th, the 81 year old Vancouver resident attempted to cross westbound on East Georgia and was struck by a pickup truck turning south onto Renfrew Street.

He was rushed to hospital for treatment, but tragically succumbed to his injuries in hospital on November 27th. His name is not being released at the request of family.

The driver of the pickup remained at the scene and has been cooperative with investigators. No charges have been laid and the collision remains under investigation.

Alcohol and speed are not considered factors in the collision.

This is Vancouver’s 17th traffic-related fatality of 2012.
