One man is recovering in hospital with serious injuries after an early morning collision on Hastings near Carrall Street.

Shortly before 5:30 a.m., a 54 year old Delta resident riding a motorcycle struck a car as they both travelled west on Hastings street.

When police arrived it was determined that the motorcycle was stolen.

The man riding the motorcycle was taken to hospital with injuries that are serious, but not considered to be life threatening. He is known to police. The driver of the car was not hurt.

Officers with the Vancouver Police Collision Investigation Unit will be processing the scene of the crash.

Once released from hospital the man faces possible charges of possession of stolen property and dangerous driving.
