Vancouver Police are investigating a July 2nd incident involving a car that crashed into the front retaining wall of a home on West King Edward near Maple Street.

Shortly before 12:30 p.m., a car driven by an 80 year old Vancouver resident jumped the curb and hit a stone retaining wall in front of a home on West King Edward. The driver was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead. There was no one else in the car and there were no other injuries.

It is still early in the investigation, but it appears the driver may have been in medical distress prior to the crash.

Investigators with the VPD Collision Investigation Unit attended and will continue to gather evidence in an attempt to determine the cause of the collision.
