A man suspected of shooting at two people has died in hospital.

Shortly after 11:30 p.m. on July 4th, Vancouver Police received several 9-1-1 calls about shots being fired on East 26th Avenue near Main Street.

Police were told that a man had pulled out a handgun and shot at two men on the street before turning the gun on himself. When officers arrived, they found a 34 year old Vancouver man critically injured from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital and was pronounced dead this morning.

The two men were understandably shaken, and one man received a minor injury when grazed by a bullet. He was treated at the scene by ambulance.

There is nothing to indicate that the two men were targeted and they have no known connection to the suspect.

The investigation is continuing.
