Vancouver Police are looking for a man believed responsible for the assault of two sex trade workers.

On September 2nd at approximately 5:30 a.m., a sex trade worker was approached by a man who asked for sex. The man became very agitated, demanded his money back and then punched her in the face. The woman screamed, getting the attention of others nearby, and the man fled on foot.

Police were called to Kingsway and Tyne, and officers arrived to search for the suspect. During that search, police located a second victim. She informed police she had also just been attacked in a similar manner. In her case, a man requesting sex for money had hit her in the arm with a bat or pipe after demanding his money back.

A number of police officers, including a police dog, attempted to locate the suspect, but were not successful.

One woman received bruising to her face and the other suffered a possible fracture to her elbow.

Detectives with the VPD Major Crime Section are aggressively investigating the two attacks and follow-up is being conducted with victims and possible witnesses.

Police are looking for a man they believe to be white, mid 20s, with a slim build and clean-shaven. He was wearing jeans, a grey or beige sweatshirt and reddish baseball cap.
