Vancouver Police are asking for the public’s help in finding $100,000 worth of Aboriginal art, recently stolen from a Vancouver Gallery.

Between the evening of October 30th and the early morning hours of October 31st, a storage locker at the Coastal Peoples Fine Arts Gallery in Gastown was broken into. The thief made off with one-of-a-kind Aboriginal masks, wooden panels and sculptures that had been stored in the locker.

“These art pieces are unique and reflect the heritage and diversity of the artists that created them,” says Detective Constable Daniel Yamniuk of the Vancouver Police Department.

“We are appealing to the public to help us return the art to its rightful place in the gallery.”

Anyone with information about this theft, or who knows the location of any of the artwork, is asked to call the Vancouver Police Department at (604) 717-9049.
