A distracted driver has a lot more to worry about than a ticket after being stopped by the Vancouver Police for talking on his cell phone.

A 25-year-old Vancouver man was stopped by patrol officers near W 23rd Avenue and Oak Street for using his cell phone while driving.  Once stopped, the officers then determined the man also had no driver’s licence.

The traffic stop continued to reveal other concerns about the driver and eventually resulted in the seizure of what is believed to be several thousand dollars worth of powder cocaine, crack, heroin and methamphetamine.

Drug related charges are expected.

Officers did not forget to give the driver his $167 ticket for using his cell phone and another $276 ticket for driving without a licence.
