An 82-year-old woman has died three days after the car she was a passenger in collided with a transit bus at the intersection of Pender and Hornby Street.

Shortly after 9:00 p.m. on Monday, May 26th, a car driven north on Hornby Street by a 58-year-old Vancouver woman collided with a transit bus travelling west on Pender. The passenger in the car, an elderly North Vancouver woman, received serious injuries. Both were taken to hospital.

The driver received minor injuries and was released from hospital. Her passenger died in hospital late last night from pre-existing issues exacerbated as a result of the collision.

The Vancouver Police continues to investigate the cause of the collision and the factors involved, but witnesses have indicated that the driver of the car may have entered the intersection against a red light.
