Update: December 2, 2014 – Suspect Arrested

Police are appealing to the public to help locate a suspect from an overnight shooting in downtown Vancouver.

Shortly before 5 p.m., police responded to a report of shots being fired in the west lane of Hornby Street at Helmcken.

When police arrived, they found a mobility scooter with multiple bullet holes. The driver of the scooter, a 43-year-old Vancouver woman, ran to St. Paul’s hospital where she was located by police, uninjured.

The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival.

Investigators believe that there was an ongoing dispute between the man and woman, and that she was the target of the shooting.

Pennell is considered armed and dangerous and he should not be approached.

Anyone who sees Gerry Pennell is asked to call 9-1-1.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Gerry Pennell is asked to call the Vancouver Police at (604) 717-2541 or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477.
