Update: April 1, 2016

victim-umbrella-main-cordovaAs police make progress in identifying the driver involved in a hit-and-run collision that killed an elderly woman on Main Street near Cordova on December 10th, investigators have still been unable to identify the victim.

A search of missing persons reports, appeals to the media, and even door-to-door canvasing of local apartment buildings and care homes have failed to identify the woman.

The victim is an elderly Asian woman with grey hair that was dyed brown. At the time of the collision she was wearing gold earrings, a bright red jacket, olive-coloured pants and was carrying a blue plaid umbrella. She also has a scar on her left shoulder.

Police need to speak with the victim’s family to notify them of the collision and to provide them with any assistance they may need. Landlords are asked to check on their tenants and anyone with a relative matching this description is asked to make contact with that family member and check on their well-being.

Anyone with information about the identity of the victim is asked to call the VPD Collision Investigation Unit at (604) 717-3012.
