Officers with the Collision Investigation Unit are currently examining the scene of a crash that has claimed the life of a pedestrian.
Police and emergency crews were called to S.W. Marine Drive near Laurel Street at about 7:30 this evening. Paramedics attempted to revive the pedestrian, but were unsuccessful.
The driver remained at the scene and officers are continuing to gathering evidence. Marine Drive is closed to traffic in both directions so police can safely investigate the collision.
