One woman is dead and police continue to investigate a fatal collision on S.W. Marine Drive near Laurel Street.
Police and emergency crews were called to the collision at about 7:30 this evening. Paramedics attempted to revive the woman, but were unsuccessful.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Alcohol is not considered a factor.
Investigators remain on scene gathering evidence to determine what factors may have played a role in the crash.
Marine Drive is expected to be shut down in both directions for another hour in order for police to safely investigate the first fatal collision of 2015.
