The Vancouver Police Department and police officers throughout BC will be out in full force taking impaired drivers off the streets at CounterAttack road checks to make sure you and your family make it home safely.
Throughout July and August, police will be reminding and encouraging drivers to plan a safe ride home before they have their first drink. The decision to drink and get behind the wheel may have tragic consequences. If you choose to drink and drive, you could lose your license and your car, or potentially kill yourself or someone else.
“Impaired driving remains one of the leading causes of crash fatalities in BC,” says Acting Inspector Ken Eng of the VPD’s Traffic Section. “We can all play a part in preventing these crashes by using a designated driver, taking transit or calling a cab if you plan on consuming alcohol.”
