Investigators are asking for witnesses to an early morning stabbing last week to come forward with any cell phone photos and video.

Shortly after 3:00 am on August 26th, police were called to a fight involving a large group of people at the Esso gas station at Davie and Burrard Street.

When officers arrived, they found a 21-year-old man had been stabbed. He was rushed to hospital with significant injuries. A number of individuals were detained by police and identified, but no arrests have been made.

Detectives have viewed CCTV footage from the area and concluded there were a number of witnesses to the incident that have not yet spoken with police.The footage also shows that a number of those witnesses appear to have filmed or taken photos with their cell phones before, during, and after the stabbing.

The victim of the stabbing has since been released from hospital and is recovering at home.
