Collision investigators continue to probe a crash at 41st Avenue and Oak Street that killed one man and sent another to hospital.
A red Suzuki making a left turn to go East on 41st was struck by a grey Audi traveling north on Oak Street.
The 68-year-old Vancouver man driving the Suzuki was taken to hospital with massive injuries and did not survive.
The driver of the Audi, a 34-year-old Richmond resident, was taken to hospital and is being treated for his injuries that are not life threatening.
Evidence at the scene and information from witnesses indicate the speed of the northbound Audi is a factor in the crash.
“Having to tell someone their husband, wife, father, mother, brother, sister, son or daughter has been killed in a crash is a horrific job police are doing far too often,” says Constable Brian Montague. “I can’t imagine what it is like for the person who has to receive that knock at the door from our officers.”
