vpd-safe-placeThe Vancouver Police Department is launching the Safe Place initiative, a program intended to identify a supportive location for members of the LGBTQ2+ community to go, in the event that they feel threatened, or concerned for their safety, or the safety of another person.

“As a business operator, you can put a Safe Place decal in your window, identifying yourself as a volunteer community partner, and let your community know that help is only a doorstep away,” says Acting Chief Constable Warren Lemcke.

Following the example of our policing partners in Seattle, we have brought their Safe Place initiative to Vancouver.
