Patrol District Four

Patrol District FourPatrol District Four is the largest of the patrol districts in Vancouver, encompassing 12 neighbourhoods: West Point Grey, Kitsilano, Fairview, Dunbar-Southlands, Arbutus Ridge, Shaughnessy, South Cambie, Riley Park, Musqueam, Kerrisdale, Oakridge and Marpole.

This area comprises 48% of the geographic area of Vancouver and has approximately 234,400 residents living in the area.

District Four is served by dedicated police officers who attended thousands of calls for service every year. In the summer, the beach areas are serviced by a specialized beach patrol.

Community Policing

District Four has two Community Policing Centres (CPCs), which offer an accessible way for citizens to speak to a neighbourhood policing officer or become involved in the community as a volunteer. The CPCs have dozens of volunteers and they are active in crime prevention and community education programs.

In addition, the VPD's BlockWatch program is very active in District Four.

Musqueam Indian Band

The Musqueam Indian Band is located in the southwest corner of District Four. There is a service agreement between Musqueam and the City of Vancouver, where the City provides municipal services such as policing. One VPD neighbourhood police officer is responsible for the community and works closely with the band administration.

District Four Community

The west side of Vancouver draws both visitors and citizens to its many attractions, such as Spanish Banks, Kitsilano, Jericho, and Locarno beaches, Queen Elizabeth Park and the Van Dusen Gardens.

There are also many vibrant neighbourhoods in the District, including our newest, Olympic Village, and a revitalized Cambie Village. The Canada Line (transit) was opened in 2010 and travels the length of the District's east side. This is a link for both visitors and locals who can easily access downtown to the north and the airport to the south.

The Vancouver Police Department encourages citizens to call 9-1-1 to report criminal activity or suspicious circumstances as we all work together to keep our city safe.
