Vancouver – A 16-year-old boy is recovering from stab wounds, and another teen is facing charges, following a violent confrontation Saturday night on Vancouver’s west-side.

Vancouver Police responded around 8 p.m. on June 28 to West 16th Avenue and Wallace Street, where officers located the injured teen. The victim had been stabbed a number of times and was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect left the area prior to police arrival, but was later arrested by VPD officers at his home.

Police believe the victim and suspect knew each other.

The suspect was released into the custody of his parents and will return to court on August 21.

The file remains under investigation.
