Vancouver – Vancouver Police are investigating a hit-and-run in East Vancouver last week, and are asking the driver, or witnesses, to call investigators.
The 70-year-old victim was crossing Grandview Highway at Slocan Street on July 11 just before 5:30 p.m., when she was struck by the driver of a grey SUV. The driver of the SUV did not stop at the scene of the collision, but rather continued driving eastbound on Grandview Highway.
“We believe there were several bystanders who attempted to chase after the vehicle,” says Constable Tania Visintin. “Investigators would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision. We also want to speak to the driver of the grey SUV to determine what circumstances led up to the incident.”
The victim was taken to hospital for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
