Vancouver – Vancouver Police are investigating the death of a pedestrian this morning in South Vancouver.
The victim, an 81-year-old man, was crossing South East Marine Drive near Borden Street just after 4:30 a.m., when he was struck by the driver of a grey Audi Q3 travelling west South East Marine. Despite life-saving attempts by first responders, the man died at the scene.
The driver of the Audi remained at the scene. Speed or impairment are not considered to be contributing factors to the collision.
Officers from VPD’s Collision Investigation Unit will be collecting evidence this morning. Witnesses to the collision, or anyone with dash-cam video, is asked to call 604-717-3012.
