Vancouver –  Vancouver Police have made an arrest in connection with a stabbing and a double homicide in East Vancouver on Friday.

VPD responded shortly before 2 p.m. on September 5th to reports of a stabbing in the Joyce-Collingwood neighbourhood. Police found a 50-year-old woman with life-threatening injuries inside an apartment building near Vanness Avenue and Spencer Street. Officers subsequently located two female homicide victims in another building, near Joyce Street and Vanness.

Police believe the stabbing and the homicides are connected. Investigators are continuing to collect and analyze evidence, and the homicide victims have not yet been identified.

A 54-year-old man, who was found with non-life-threatening injuries at the scene of the homicides, has been arrested. He remains in police custody and charges have not yet been laid.
