Vancouver – A suspect has been arrested by Vancouver Police and charged with aggravated assault after allegedly stabbing another man in a Downtown Eastside rooming house.

Police responded to a report of a stabbing involving two residents at a rooming house at E. Hastings Street and Columbia Street just after midnight on Thursday. Officers found the 39-year-old victim in his room bleeding profusely. He was rushed to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Vancouver Police located the suspect and took him into custody.

Torsten Ford, 46, has now been charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.

Ford remains in custody.
