VPD investigate after teen stabbed at high school basketball game

Vancouver Police are investigating the assault of a teenager, who was stabbed following a high school basketball game in Vancouver on Monday, February 2, 2026.

The assault occurred at Eric Hamber Secondary shortly after 9 p.m., as a game between Hamber and the Killarney Secondary basketball teams was concluding.

Police believe fights broke out between students inside the school, resulting in an 18-year-old boy being stabbed in the arm. The stabbing victim was taken to hospital and received medical treatment. No arrests have been made.

Police are asking anyone who took cell phone video during the fight or while the game was taking place to submit video.
