Update: Vancouver Police confirm homicide in Downtown Eastside death

Vancouver – The Vancouver Police Department has confirmed that a suspicious death from March 20 is now being investigated as a homicide.

Investigators have identified the name of the victim as 21-year-old Isaiah Elijah Hector Cecil-Johnny, who also went by the street name, “Littlebird”. On March 20, B.C. Emergency Health Services called the VPD to attend the south lane in the 100-block of East Hastings Street due to the suspicious nature of the injuries found on Cecil-Johnny.

Anyone who may have interacted with Cecil-Johnny on the evening of March 19, or in the early morning hours of March 20, are asked to call the VPD Homicide Unit at 604-717-2500.
