Vancouver – Vancouver Police arrested a man Thursday evening after he allegedly threatened people with an axe and damaged restaurant property near Main Street and East 24th Avenue.
Police received reports that a man was threatening passersby, throwing cutlery toward a restaurant storefront, and smashing plates on the restaurant’s patio. Officers responded immediately and located the suspect within minutes. With assistance from the VPD Canine Unit, officers took the 29-year-old man into custody.
The suspect was taken to hospital with injuries before being released on an undertaking. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
