Vancouver Police are confirming the city’s 15th homicide of the year after the body of a woman was recovered from the Fraser River near the 9100 block of Bentley Street on July 23rd.
A citizen walking near the shore at 7:45 p.m. saw what he believed was a body in the water and alerted police. Vancouver Police Major Crime Homicide investigators attended and cordoned off the area for further investigation.
Following an autopsy earlier today the case has now been confirmed as a homicide. The identity and age of the woman are unconfirmed at this time.
