The Integrated Riot Investigation Team has reached another milestone and recommended charges against our 200th rioter. The team has delivered Round 7, with a further 83 criminal charges against 25 more individuals who took part in the June 15th hockey riots. To date, the Team has investigated and recommended 592 charges against 200 rioters.
Four more guilty pleas were also received over the past number of weeks, bringing the total to seven guilty pleas received by the courts so far.
“If you took part in the crime spree on June 15th and think you got away with it, you’re wrong,” says Team Commander Inspector Les Yeo. “Investigators are busy preparing more charges and Round 8 is just around the corner.”
