One recent afternoon in the Downtown Eastside, police received calls that a man was approaching people and telling them he had been stabbed. Officers quickly located the man, who had a stab wound to the left side of his neck, and he was taken to hospital.
Members determined the location where the stabbing took place and located surveillance video which showed a man walking behind the victim. When the victim turned around to face him, the suspect appears to strike him in the neck. A person-of-interest was identified.
The victim is recovering from non-life-threatening injuries and is uncooperative with police. The investigation is ongoing.
