Vancouver Police are investigating three homicides in two unrelated incidents that occurred in Vancouver overnight.

Just after 7 p.m., officers were called to the Astoria Hotel where two people were found unresponsive in a room. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other died at hospital.

Then shortly after, just before 7:30 p.m., officers responded to multiple 911 calls of shots being fired near East 64th Avenue and Knight Street. One victim was found dead in front of a house in the area.

Both incidents are being investigated by VPD’s Major Crime Section. Investigators do not believe there is any risk to the public.

These homicides mark Vancouver’s 12th, 13th and 14th homicides of the year.
