A man leaving a store in the 1300 block of Kingsway one recent evening was approached by a teenaged boy he did not know. He told the teen that he didn’t wish to speak with him and continued walking away. The youth became belligerent, and allegedly pulled out a knife and held it to the man’s throat. The victim managed to back away and seek safety inside a taxi while he called 9-1-1.
Officers located the suspect in the area and he was arrested for assault with a weapon. The knife was seized.
The victim was not physically injured in the incident.
