Vancouver Vancouver Police are hoping to speak with a woman who was groped by a stranger while walking on West Georgia Street on April 27, and believe she was one of several people sexually assaulted by the man.

VPD Sex Crimes detectives were investigating a series of gropings that happened downtown in late April when they discovered video showing a woman being assaulted. The incident was not reported, and police would like to speak with the woman.

“We believe she was walking near West Georgia and Beatty Street around 9:30 p.m. on April 27 when she was assaulted,” says Constable Tania Visintin. “Choosing to report a sexual assault is a personal decision. If this person comes forward, they’ll be able to speak confidentially with investigators and have access to services for victims of crime.”

Vancouver Police first launched an investigation when four women came forward and reported being groped by a stranger while walking at night in neighbourhoods surrounding BC Place and Rogers Arena between April 27 and April 29. A 25-year-old suspect was later arrested.

The VPD investigation is ongoing.
