Vancouver – Vancouver Police are releasing images of two suspects who are believed to be responsible for a triple stabbing in the Fairview neighbourhood last fall, and are asking anyone who recognizes them to call police.

Three people were stabbed and one person was assaulted after a fight broke out at a restaurant near Oak Street and West Broadway at 1:30 a.m. on October 30, 2022. When officers arrived at the scene, they found three victims with serious stab wounds. The suspects had fled the area before police arrived.

“Investigators from VPD’s Major Crime Section immediately launched an investigation,” says Constable Tania Visintin. “Over the past year, their investigative steps have included the execution of numerous search warrants, DNA testing of forensic evidence from the scene, witness interviews, and a review of surveillance video. The two men involved in the crime have not yet been identified, and investigators are now turning to the public for their help.”

Both suspects are South Asian men in the 30s with dark beards. The first suspect has a slim build, was wearing a dark ball cap and a puffy vest on top of a crew neck sweater. The second suspect has a heavy build, and was wearing a dark jacket on top of a white t-shirt.

“Investigators don’t believe the suspects and victims knew each other, and were the result of a confrontation between two groups of people inside the restaurant,” adds Constable Visintin.

Anyone who has information, or who recognizes either suspect, is asked to call VPD Major Crime Section at 604-717-2541.
