Vancouver – A Vancouver man has been charged with resisting arrest and assaulting a Vancouver Police officer, after returning to the scene of an alleged child abduction.

VPD officers responded to the West Coast Family Centre around 9 a.m. on April 4, following reports the suspect was breaching release conditions imposed on March 13, following his arrest in connection with an Amber Alert. The suspect was in the company of three other adults and several children. The group appeared to be engaged in a protest.

As police were taking the suspect into custody, he allegedly resisted and assaulted one officer. He was taken to jail, charged with multiple offences, and later released by the court.

Davis Lim, 39, is charged with assaulting a peace officer, resisting a peace officer, and failure to comply with an undertaking.

Lim’s current bail conditions restrict him from attending at any Ministry of Children and Family Development office in B.C.
