Vancouver – Vancouver Police are seeking additional witnesses related to an incident that occurred in Downtown Vancouver’s business district on March 25, 2026.
At approximately 7:20 p.m., police responded to Granville Street between Dunsmuir and Pender Street after reports of a man yelling and screaming at people. The man was arrested and remains in custody. Investigators are asking anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the incident or was affected by this individual to come forward.
Derek Jason Sangris, 47, is charged with one count of sexual assault and unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon.
