Vancouver – The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) is requesting the public’s help to locate witnesses and gather information and dashcam footage following a robbery in the Marpole neighbourhood last week.
On August 27, at approximately 1:30 a.m., a woman was walking in the west lane of the 8600 block of Granville Street near S.W. Marine Drive, when she was approached by an unidentified man.
The man allegedly punched the woman in the face and stole her purse. He fled before police arrived, and a neighborhood search was unsuccessful. Officers located the victim’s phone nearby. She was treated on location by British Columbia Emergency Health Services (EHS) paramedics for injuries to her nose.
Officers are reviewing area surveillance and ask anyone driving near Granville Street and S.W. Marine Drive on August 27 between 1:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. to check their dashcam footage. Witnesses or anyone with video evidence are asked to call Vancouver Police at 604-717-3321 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
