Vancouver – A shooting suspect has been arrested by Vancouver Police and faces multiple charges following a violent incident in East Vancouver Wednesday night.

Vancouver Police were called to Vernon Drive and East 2nd Avenue after shots were fired just after 7 p.m. Wednesday. Officers located a 28-year-old woman with a gunshot wound. She was taken to hospital and is expected to survive.

The suspect, a man in his 50s, left the area after the shooting. He was located and arrested by VPD near Trout Lake just before 10 p.m.

The man remains in custody and the VPD investigation is ongoing.
