Vancouver – A suspect has been charged with several offences following an investigation by the VPD Internet Child Exploitation Unit.
VPD received a report on April 6, 2024, from a mother, who had discovered that her teenaged daughter was communicating with an adult man via text messages. The mother also learned that the man had allegedly requested intimate photographs from her daughter in exchange for money.
Detectives from the VPD Internet Child Exploitation Unit arrested 36-year-old Geordie Roxburgh on December 14, 2024, and seized multiple electronic devices and firearms.
As of March 25, Roxburgh has been charged with the following offences:
– Internet luring of a person under the age of 16
– Possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material
– Unlawful firearm possession
Roxburgh’s next court appearance has been scheduled for May 5.
