Vancouver Police are appealing for information in the City’s first homicide of the year after a man in his 30s was found dead on the front sidewalk of a home in the 4400 block of Knight Street this morning. The man had been shot.
The VPD Major Crime Homicide Section and Forensic Identification Unit are investigating. A canvass of the area for witnesses and evidence is ongoing.
Residents nearby told investigators that they heard shots fired overnight, although no calls were received by 9-1-1 at the time.
Police were alerted to the incident by B.C. Ambulance, who were attending for a call of a man down.
The investigation is continuing and the identity of the victim is unknown at this time.
