Vancouver Police are confirming the identity of the man who died in Vancouver’s 2nd homicide of 2010. Cliff Soumphonh Thammavongsa, a 22 year old Metro Vancouver resident, was shot in the 1500 block of E 10th Avenue January 27th.
Mr. Thammavongsa was not known to police.
It is still very early in the investigation and officers will continue to be in the area throughout the day.
Early indications are that Mr. Thammavongsa was targeted. At this time there are no suspects in custody and there are no suspect descriptions.
Homicide detectives are asking residents of the neighbourhood bounded by E. Broadway Avenue, E.12th Avenue, Clark Drive and Commercial Drive, to call police if they find anything suspicious in their yards.
