Charges have now been laid against a 23 year old Vancouver man following a lengthy year-and-a-half police investigation into the suspicious death of a man in late 2010.

Derek Andrew Crawford, a 27 year old Burnaby man, died from his injuries following a violent confrontation on November 24th, 2010.

Shortly after 10 p.m. that date, Vancouver Police were called by BC Ambulance to assist them at a home in the 6200 block of Battison Street in southeast Vancouver.

Officers arrived and found Crawford deceased inside the house. Crawford had been visiting friends at the home prior to his death. Two men who were in the home when police arrived were taken down to the police station for questioning.

Jae Hyuck Richard Kim has been charged with one count of manslaughter and one count of criminal negligence causing death. Kim has been remanded and his next scheduled court appearance on August 20th, 2012, in Provincial Court.

The total number of Vancouver homicides for 2010 has been changed from nine to ten.
