The Vancouver Police are asking for the public’s help to find a missing elderly man who has not been seen since July 9th.

Alfred Peter Sassin has not been since he left his home in downtown Vancouver on July 9th. He was reported missing to police on July 16th.

Mr. Sassin is white, 79 years old, 5′ 08″ tall and weighs 155 lbs., with white hair, blue eyes and he wears glasses. He often wears jeans and a collared casual shirt.

Mr. Sassin keeps to himself, travels on transit and spends his days at the Vancouver Public Library and various other locations downtown. He speaks both English and German and has no known health concerns that police are aware of.

Friends say that Sassin’s departure is unlike him and police are growing concerned for his safety as he has now missed an important appointment.

Area searches by police around his home, as well as checks of public transit, other Metro Vancouver police agencies, taxi companies, and local hospitals, have failed to turn up any sign of Mr. Sassin.

Anyone who sees Alfred Sassin is asked to contact 9-1-1 immediately.
