Vancouver Police are investigating a suspicious fire after human remains were found inside a burnt car.

Around 7:30 p.m. on November 17th, Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services responded to a car fire in the 1500 block of Carolina Street. When they got there, fire crews found a badly burnt vehicle with what was believed to be human remains inside.

The fire is being treated as suspicious and investigators will be working to determine what caused the fire.

The Vancouver Police Forensic Identification Unit and investigators from the VPD Major Crime Section were at the scene throughout the night.
