The body found in a badly burnt car following a suspicious fire on November 17th has now been identified and determined to be Vancouver’s 9th homicide of 2012. Investigators believe the car fire was deliberately set.
Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services were called to the fire in the 1500 block of Carolina Street around 7:30 p.m. Investigators from the VPD Major Crime Section, in conjunction with the BC Coroners Service, worked to identify the remains inside the car and determine the cause of death.
The victim has been identified as 23 year old Matthew Johnathon Hall of Richmond.
