A body found inside a deadly house fire has been identified and the Vancouver Police are continuing to investigate what has been determined to be the city’s third murder of 2013.

Shortly after 5:00 p.m. on June 15th, police were requested by Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services to attend a house fire in the 900 block of East 63rd Avenue that had resulted in the death of one person.

Investigators from the Vancouver Police Major Crime Section and the Forensic Identification Unit conducted a thorough examination of the crime scene and an autopsy has been completed.

The fire was deliberately set and the death of the person found inside is now confirmed to be a homicide.

The victim has been identified as 20 year old Edward Stobie Billy. Police have not made any arrests related to the investigation.
