Vancouver Police are searching for witnesses to an East Vancouver attack that sent a woman to hospital.

Around 1:30 a.m. on December 2nd, a woman was walking past Rupert Park northbound near the intersection of Rupert and Kitchener Streets when was attacked from behind by a stranger. The woman was hit multiple times, choked and kicked before she was able to fight back with her umbrella and run away. She suffered injuries to her head, neck and arms and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The motive for the attack is unknown at this time.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 30s, 5’8″ tall, with a skinny build, brown hair and blonde stubble. He was wearing a black baseball cap, a green jacket with a letter “B” varsity logo and work boots.
